Meet Carl.  Get to know his platform issues.

I filed as a challenger for the 2017 Municipal Election at the Orange County Board of Election in Hillsborough, NC on Thursday, July 20th, 2017 at 4:40pm.
My goals in filing for this upcoming Chapel Hill Town Council election stem from:
Directing energies and moving forward with the Chapel Hill 2020 Comprehensive Plan
Embracing the vision and supporting the 2016-2018 Town Council goals
Recognizing the Town of Chapel Hill as a  diversified and dynamic community
Supporting the six themes of the Chapel Hill 2020 comprehensive plan
A place for Everyone
Community Prosperity and Engagement
Getting Around
Good Places, New Spaces
Nurturing our Community
Town and Gown Collaboration

About Carl

At the age of 10, I moved with my Family from Ottawa, Canada to Bloomington, Indiana.
After 5 years of residency, my parents applied for U.S. citizenship.   and completed the naturalization process before Ireached my 18th birthday. My naturalization process leading to U.S citizenship began during  my senior year of high school, and I became an American citizen during my freshman year at Indiana State.
Graduating from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I moved to Chapel Hill in 1991 to pursue my bedside critical care nursing career at UNC Hospitals.
In 2004, I transitioned from UNC Hospitals to the UNC-Chapel Hill  School of Medicine, where I utilized my nursing and clinical research skills in a Nurse Clinician role with a concentration in Anesthesiology and Cardiology.
That same  year,  I moved back to Chapel Hill from Durham and became a homeowner in the Vineyard Square neighborhood where I have lived for the past thirteen years.
Today, in my role as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) with Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI), I manage the conduct of clinical trials.
Community volunteering activities combined with my interest in local and state government and public policy lead me to believe that I would make a positive contribution to Chapel Hill if elected to Town Council.
It is my goal to do my very best effort to conduct the Town's business on behalf of the Town of Chapel Hill and its residents.
I welcome your comments and suggestions  as we head into the 2017 Municipal Non-Partisan Elections.
